Department of Biology at Faculty of Science, the University of Copenhagen is looking for a laboratory assistant starting 1 October 2023. The position is for a 6-month period.
About us
The Department has a very unique research and study environment with strong basic research and versatile education in biology, biochemistry, molecular biomedicine and bioinformatics.
In the Section for Cell Biology and Physiology, our research is aimed at deciphering the molecular and cellular bases of human diseases and genetic disorders as well as physiological adaptations in response to environmental challenges.
The job is done in the laboratory of Prof. M. Berchtold in the section Cell Biology and Physiology at the Department of Biology.
The group works on the role of calcium-binding proteins in health and disease, focusing on the role of mutated Calmodulin in heart pathophysiology and the function of several calcium-binding proteins in plasma membrane repair. For further information on our scientific program, see

Tasks
Routine laboratory helping work
Your task will include
- Waste removal
- Making solution for experiments
- Autoclaving
- Cleaning and maintenance of lab equipment (e.g. flow bench)
- Cell cultivation and counting
- A minimum of one year of lab technician helper work
- Experience in mammalian cell culturing, cell counting/viability measurement
- The candidate should have "Team player" abilities
The employment and salary is made in accordance with The Collective Agreement between the Danish Ministry of Taxation and the Organisations of Public Employees – governmental institutions (the OAO-S collective agreement) and the Professional Agreement for clerical employees, laboratory technicians and it officers in the state.
You will be employed as a laboratory assistant at salary grade 1. Negotiation for salary supplement is possible.
The working time is 7 hours per week on average for 6 months. The working hours are flexible.
