The Department of Geosciences and Natural Resource Management invites applicants for a Center administrator to support the research activities of the Global Wetland Center. The center administrator will be the administrative heart of the Center. The position is envisaged for six years (Jan 2024-Dec 2029).

The Global Wetland Center will contribute to the development of wetland-based climate change mitigation strategies through a combination of biogeochemical and hydrological modelling, satellite remote sensing and use of Artificial Intelligence techniques. The Center is a collaboration between two departments from the University of Copenhagen (Department of Geosciences and Natural Resource Management and Department of Computer Sciences), DHI A/S, and GEUS (The Geological Survey of Denmark and Greenland), and is funded for a six-year period (2024-2029).

To start the Center’s activities, we are looking for an administrator who wants to support an international group of researchers from four institutions. The administrator will support the Center leader and board in all aspects of administration, specifically:

  • coordinate the administration between the Center and the four partners, the Novo Nordisk Foundation and the local administration at the Department of Geosciences and Natural Resource Management;
  • perform administrative tasks, e.g. arranging travels and internal accounting;
  • organise meetings and workshops;
  • organise and coordinate the annual reporting towards the Novo Nordisk Foundation;
  • be responsible for external and internal communication;
In addition, the administrator will be involved in

  • data management and organization of data streams between partners
  • public outreach, website development and the Center’s communication on social media
Qualifications
We are looking for motivated, skilled applicants with an interest in administration and an ability to work independently. Applicants should be willing to support research and to organize a research environment. We expect fluency in spoken and written English and Danish. Experience with (university) administration is an asset.

Terms of salary and employment
The employment and salary are made in accordance with the Circular on the Collective Agreement concerning academics in the state sector concluded between the Ministry of Finance and AC (the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations).

Employment will be as Special Consultant. The salary is based on seniority. Negotiation for salary supplement is possible. The working time are 37 hours per week on average. The working hours are flexible.
